“I’m so excited to share the result of collaborations with artisans, tailors, shoemakers, milliners, textile artists and costumers who joined me in building Bob Dylan’s world to tell this story,” Phillips said. “This is a deeply meaningful passion project and an inspiring story about a young artist finding his voice, carving his own unique musical identity as an artist, poet, and a prolific mysterious minstrel who would write the soundtrack to generations.”

Specific pieces worn by Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan, Elle Fanning as Sylvie Russo, Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez, Edward Norton as Pete Seeger and Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash will be displayed. The film takes place in the 1960s and tracks the evolution of Dylan’s persona.

First reactions to the film have praised the below-the-line crafts, including the costume design. “A Complete Unknown” will release theatrically on Dec. 25.

‘Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story’ Sets MAX Streaming Date

The sky’s the limit as the award-winning documentary “Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story” will officially release on Max Dec. 7.

The film originally had its world premiere at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival where it was met with strong critical reception. Most recently, the film had a theatrical run in the U.S. and won six Critics Choice Documentary Awards for Best Director, Best Editing, Best Score, Best Archival Documentary and Best Biographical Documentary. It tied for Best Documentary Feature with Netflix’s “Will & Harper.”

“Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story” tells the true story of the late actor Christopher Reeve after a life-altering horseback incident in 1995 left him paralyzed from the neck down. The film follows his life before and after the accident as he took on the lead role in 1978’s “Superman: The Movie,” using his fame to help fund medical research and inspire hope and perseverance in others.

In his positive review for Variety out of Sundance, Owen Gleiberman described the film as a “a moving, wrenching, compellingly well-made documentary about Reeve’s life that inevitably ends up centering on his accident and its aftermath.”

The film is presented by DC Studios in association with HBO Documentary Films and CNN Films. Other featured participants include Susan Sarandon, Glenn Close, Jeff Daniels, Whoopi Goldberg and Reeve’s children Matthew Reeve, Alexandra Reeve Givens and Will Reeve.
