We purchased our Maytag dishwasher from Nebraska Furniture Mart in February

We purchased our Maytag dishwasher from Nebraska Furniture Mart in February 2013. The touch panel on our Maytag dishwasher quit working in December 2014, several lights would come on or flash or not work at all. The first repairman that we had come out took the panel apart, cleaned it up and put it back together ($100). It started working again but a few days later it started doing the same thing again. So I called the repairman back and he said the touch panel would need to be replaced. He called all over Omaha and no one had the part in stock. He called the Chicago Maytag warehouse and was told by them that they were out of them because there were so many defective dishwashers that they used them all. Now they are trying to find a new manufacturer to make them. It could be months before they get them in. So I contacted Maytag and of course they said that is not true and put me through to a parts company that they said has all the parts available. When I told that company that it was the touch panel, I was told by them that you only replace the touch panel for cosmetic reasons! So we got a second opinion from another Maytag repair company and he spent about 10 minutes looking at the dishwasher and said its a defective touch panel. He said he has replaced a lot of them in Maytag dishwashers. He recommended that I contact Maytag customer service and try to get them to pay for the part. I did call them and of course they refused because it is out of warranty. The supervisor even told me that they have not had any complaints about the touchpad malfunctioning! They do not stand behind their products anymore. I will never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool product ever again. I told them exactly how I felt and their only reply was Im sorry you feel that way. I am surprised they continue to stay in business. I dont understand how major stores can continue to sell their products when they are garbage. Based on the other reviews Ive read, Im not even sure we should fix this for $250.

Of course since it had Maytag name brand, I did not purchase extended warranty due to thinking it would at least last more than several years. I called Maytag/Whirlpool. They gave me name of authorized repair in our area. So far they have come out 2 times. $560.00 later, it is still not working and they have no answer as to how or what to do. We are now into $1300.00 between purchase and repairs and still no washer. We are retired hard working people and this is really a bad way to treat consumers. Thinking that the Neptune fiasco was over, I happily bought into the sick company and got burnt 3 times for all 3 purchases. The Gemini range with dual ovens: the controller clock with all relays and electronic package is dying, leaving me with no ovens, or slow heating and an alarm in the middle of the night. Now, even the burners are not working properly. Junk at any price, and I paid $2,400. Not 5 years old and repaired several times under warranty; all were electrical failures.The fridge is another failure. Apparently the Freon is leaking out. It is unrepairable and it was typical of these from what the service guy said, not 5 years old. It was repaired once, leaking on floor. Apparently, it was a kinked drain hose. The dishwasher was one year old and it caught fire when the dial was turned while the machine was running. The 4th machine, an over the range microwave, is still running… although from day one it sucks so much power on the dedicated line that it dims the lights in the microwave as it starts up and each time, the magnetron energizes. I am just waiting for it to fail too. Can you say never and mean it? There was no goodwill offered. “So sad” and “too bad” is the common line. Nothing will last more than 5 years if you listen to sales people at Maytag - junk. There was no help from the corporate office. Nothing I can do for you. Junk, junk, junk.

I am retired and have always had dogs in my life. My recent purchase of a new Maytag top loading washer has been very frustrating. There is barely enough water to measure in an oversize tub. The placard on the lid, and in the owner manual clearly show three levels of water. Each load takes twice the time as I am used to with my older Kenmore washer. I am forced to cut my loads in two or three, and use more water and energy to do a job that used to take less than half the time, water and electricity. I have had warranty repair to replace the control board twice, but nothing has changed. The repair techs both said there is one program on new washers, the knobs and settings do nothing, and recommended I get used to it. They explained the EPA is responsible for all changes to Protect consumers from harm. WHAT???I wish I had never bought this unit - if I could get my Kenmore back I would, in a hot minute! What a waste of a large tub to properly wash pet bedding and bedspreads/pillows, when there is only 3-4 inches of water! I wasted an entire paycheck, when I could have gotten my other unit repaired or rebuilt. I am seriously frustrated, I am searching for an older washer unit to get back to doing my laundry without being forced into a laundromat for pet bedding and larger items!!!

Ice forms in the bottom freezer and then constantly melts out of the bottom of the appliance all over the floor. Weve had a number of service calls with no real effect. The computerized function that sets functions do not work well and often shut down the appliance with little clear way to start it up again. The ice maker/dispenser often clogs up or will not produce ice. Weve had it! We broke down today and spent the money on a new GE refrigerator. My very strong advice is DONT BUY A MAYTAG refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom!

Now I am getting bills to pay for coverage on both because the form says my coverage ends this December 2011. I buy a Maytag dishwasher and its the one that catches fire. I get the rebate of 250 for buying the more expensive one - but am still out 500 dollars. Installation was bad by contractors from Lowes - just called that in to have it reinstalled. AND THE MOST RECENT IS THE FRENCH DOOR REFRIGERATOR I BOUGHT 9/4/2010. By July, the washer was at 747 take-off noise level when hitting the spin cycle. I called Whirlpool, who directed me to their local repair firm. I called them on August 2nd and had a service rep visit on August 9th. He looked a 30-second look and advised that the bearing assembly was shot and that the spin basket required replacing.

The agitator wings are not attached at bottom allowing clothing to get caught and as the agitator turns, so does the clothing causing stretching and severe tangling. Poor design compared to the agitator that would rise and fall - those got clothing clean and did not ruin them. I cannot trust this machine to moderately cost clothing for fear of their demise. The lock-down mode is not convenient for those last minute added items. Will not be buying Maytag/Whirlpool ever again when another machine is purchased. This is a piece of rubbish!

I just saw that there had been a class action lawsuit settled in 2005 for the Maytag Neptune front load washer and I was never notified as an owner! I have this crummy product and have been living with it for more than 10 years! I just scheduled a repairman to replace the moldy gasket (for the second time) and the noisy pump, and a latch that has to be slammed for a sum of $438. What a crock. I was told this was a top of the line model when I purchased it for $999. Ive never had such a piece of junk before in my life. I run loads of bleach weekly to control the mildew.

Maytag Centennial Impeller HE Washing Machine - The seller left this piece of junk for us. I wondered why because it appeared brand new. After the first washing I knew why. I sure regretted leaving my old set behind. This washing machine wont let you add the amount of water you need. I had to add buckets of water and hope it didnt just empty it out because the sensor controls everything. Twice it just emptied it after I closed the lid and it locked. There is an impeller instead of an agitator. It moves slightly but not enough to move the clothes. To top it off the spin cycle tears into the clothing and twists and wrings it so hard everything is wrinkled with soap residue remaining even on delicate. Each load takes over an hour and the clothes arent even clean. It went to the dump after 4 washes. I went on Craigslist and purchased a used Kenmore and am in heaven. No lock, an agitator, 3 water levels, clean clothing, you can open it and add the missing sock, no sensor controlling how you want to do laundry and no more buckets. Dont buy a Maytag. Look at all of the reviews. They arent exaggerating, they are really that bad. Thank you.

I also end up with fabric softener all over the clothes. I use the Downy Ball and I just took out my black pants to find blue all over them. I contacted Home Depot where I purchased the machine. They said to get a hold of you. All I want is get a different machine, not an HE. This is beyond anything. Someone should have to put up with, can you help me?

In December of 2013, I purchased a Middle of the Line Maytag Dishwasher model #MDB8949SBW for $600 plus $200.00 for install and removal of 5 yr old Kenmore. At that time I thought I did my research and saw no major negative flaws on this type of machine or similar machines. This replaced a 5 yr old low line Kenmore that just upped and died. Installed just before the holidays, this Maytag machine seemed to have worked tirelessly until a few days ago August 18/2015. The computer controls went haywire. I was hitting normal start buttons and other buttons on the other side of the control panel were blinking and lighting up. Worse was trying to cancel and the control boards were not responding. Even hitting the start button, the machine would not turn on. Finally looking at the facia, I see the tabs of the flexible plastic frame that hold the control panel popping out from underneath the white facia plate. Snapping the frame back in and applying a lot of pressure got the machine to operate. With a family of four and minimal storage space, this machine is used approx once a day. It appears over the year and 1/2 by pulling on the plastic handle - which also happens to be the computer control board frame, the computer has separated from its mount and has allowed moisture to hit the control board/computer and wreak havoc on the electronics. Looking up this model online NOW, I see I am not the only one with Dishwasher computers failing within a year or two- just out of the one year warranty. A Call to Maytags customer service has the computer control board alone cost $160.00 plus the service tech and his labor fees reaching in excess of $450.00. The CS rep gave me a repair discount to $267.00 and a week wait for the Service Tech for this problem to be fixed. I bought this machine on two premises - one for its price, it was the only machine that offered 3 spin jets that really do a good job in cleaning dishes and 2, I owned a 1984 Maytag dishwasher in another home with computer controls in the handle and to this day, that machine is still running flawlessly! My only issue with the 84 Maytag machine was after 4 years the door gasket went - too much soap - replaced and no issues since! I expected similar performance with this one. I guess I have to spend north of 3 bills for similar performance and quality. What was I thinking?

Bravos 4.3 High Efficiency Washer - The worst washer ever. I recently returned from burying my step-mother. She actually used the same washer and dryer, by Maytag, for over 50 years. Those days are gone forever. This is my second set of Maytags in ten years. The first literally stopped working just after the first year warranty ran out. I still have them inside my pantry, like a set of anchors. Notwithstanding that, I thought, Maytag was a good brand, it must have just been the style of machines, so I purchased these in January. After over six months of usage, I am amazed at how many times I have to wash a single load of clothing to get the items clean. Who cares if the machine saves water? What was wrong with having an agitator? I literally have to remove freshly laundered clothing, turn it over and run the wash again to get the top of the laundry clean. I have had a blanket finish for the fourth time to get it clean, only to have to hang it outside because it is so full of water, the weight keeps it from spinning properly. And why would you remove a timer feature which permits very busy, working people, to wash their items while they are on the way home or in the middle of the night so that there is no waiting to pop the clothes in the dryer? None of the cycles takes less than 80 minutes to complete. Who has 80 minutes to wait on the washer to do its job? I am so upset about the amount of money I spent on all of these machines. Just think, I could have brought the over 50 years old set home from my step-mothers and had a washer and dryer do what they were supposed to do -- clean the clothes.

Does not rinse clothes or dispense adequate water. This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned. Dark clothes come out of washer with white dust/soap residue on them. Clothes often come out of washer dry - never touched by water in the wash cycle. The spin cycle knots the clothes into a heap. As for the dryer, pulling out the lint filter leaves lint particles all over the top of the dryer. Poor design.

After using it for sometime, I could not be more disappointed. The clothes come out smelly, stained and gray. I tried using affresh washer cleaner on hot setting and the tablet did not even dissolve. There is black mold growing and must be cleaned constantly. I am so sad that my favorite company has let us down. I cannot afford to buy another washer so I am stuck with this lemon!

All the plate did was swish some water around on the bottom. Clothes werent clean at all. Check my Youtube video, and you can watch the leg of the pair of pants sticking up out of the water and never getting back down in to get wet. Horrible horrible machine. With that said, called the company I bought it from, and they arranged for a front loader since Id only had the machine for a couple hours. The panel would light up, but would not run. We contacted Maytag and were assigned a repairman (The Appliance Guy) who could not come to fix the dishwasher until 5 days later. Once he finally showed up, I was informed by him that the control panel for the dishwasher had two shorts in it and it would be cheaper for me to just buy a new dishwasher because the repair to this one would be $344.44. When I contacted the customer service for Maytag, they offered to let me pay for the repairs and then they would give me a six month service warranty for free. Does that make sense to anyone? I could buy a totally different brand, brand-spanking-new and have a twelve month warranty with a better product. I asked to speak with Cheris boss and got to speak with Aaron, who offered me the same spiel. Heavily scripted, I apologize that you are dissatisfied, but all we can do is give you the service warranty for six months after you pay for the repair. I asked him if he was reading a script and he replied no. Now I know that he had probably repeated these same words twenty times a day. Heres a thought, Maytag claims to be a green company, using less electricity and water, and saving the customers money and yet they are filling up all the landfills with these appliances that are not even five years old. How is that being a green company?You know how when you buy a nice new button-up shirt? The makers of that good quality shirt go ahead and sew an extra button on the inside bottom part of the shirt because they know that theres a chance youll lose a button. Well, Im thinking that Maytag should just start shipping a couple extra control panels in every box of Maytag dishwashers. Crazy idea, right? Okay, so an easier and cheaper way for Maytag to correct the problem is to stop making dishwashers. Go back to the drawing board, make the engineer who designed the control panel wash everyones dishes (as punishment and he can get help from the customer service people because theyre really doing nothing), start building the old design dishwasher that has the old switch and dial, and start respecting their customers. There, problems solved!

The issues are: currently (and previously) not filling water; leakage around gasket, which we replaced twice. I read in other related posts that fire hazard has been flagged as a potential problem. Im not surprised as I cant tell you how many times this machine has gone through the motions (cycles) of appearing to clean, then we discovered that it has not cleaned anything, despite being very hot (and dry) inside the unit. Stay away from this brand.Multiple service calls and replacement parts we incurred at our own cost, in addition to many episodes of inconvenience to our family.

I called Maytag to find out how I can get this repaired since, as time progresses, it will become worse due to using the handle to open and close the microwave. I was told this was a cosmetic warranty which expired after 30 days. They would fix it only if the microwave couldnt be opened. Apparently, the handle can become loose but as long as the door opens, they wont do anything.I bought Maytag because of their supposed reputation. Im so glad this happened with my $300 microwave as we were getting ready to replace our washer and dryer and were looking at Maytags. Good to know they dont back their products before I spend several thousand dollars on a washer and dryer. I will NEVER purchase another Maytag. I called Maytag, my washer is out of warranty. After discussing the situation with knowledgeable appliance people, they said it is probably the motherboard. I know how expensive that is to repair and pay for a repairman to diagnosis the problem. I decided to purchase a new washer. Of course, it was not a Maytag. I read online all the people with same or similar problems left out of luck. This is an outrage and Maytag should not be allowed to get away with producing, selling and not standing behind the products. These machines should have been recalled and replaced with ones that are upstanding and will last for more than 2 years.

I called Maytag and they wanted $109 for a diagnostic fee and wouldnt tell me how much the labor would be. A control board costs $350. So by the time all is said and done... the money would be better spent buying a new one. Maytags slogan of dependability lasts is a bunch of hooey. Washers should last more than 2 1/2 years and Maytag should back up their appliances. They just lost a customer.

Now for my dryer, it has 3 baffles inside that helps turn and fluff the clothes, and 2 of mine have broke off. And that results in clothes that look like they have been in the dryer for weeks. Bravos XL Top loading High Efficiency Low Water Washer and Dryer - I gave this washing machine a 1 star but would give it a 0 star or less if the choice was available. I agree with everything others have voiced about this washer. I end up using the bulky cycle for everything because it is the only cycle I have found that will use enough water to get the clothes moving around. All the other cycles are a joke. First you must put everything around the wall of the tub away from the so called agitator. Then about 2 cups of water enters the machine. It then goes into this high speed spin. In my opinion it just pushes any soil deeper into the fibers. The drum will then spin slowly and water will spray on the clothes for several minutes but the washer never fills with enough water to cover the clothes. Watching it agitate through the glass top is almost hysterical. Laundry is barely moving. The high speed spin they push as a selling point puts deep wrinkles in everything and the wrinkle control setting on the dryer does nothing for them. It is absolutely the worst machine I have ever owned. My husband has repeatedly told me to sell these and buy another set. I will be ashamed to sell it to anyone. Im not sure how the makers of Maytag got away with selling these machines. I know there are different models but from what I have read they all work the same. I replaced a very low end GE Washer and Dryer with this pair and every time I do laundry I wish I had them back. The matching dryer is very costly to run as almost every load takes 2 cycles to get items dry. Nothing comes out completely dry even if you put it on the more dry setting.

I purchased my Maytag washer and dryer set from the Maytag store in Glendale, AZ in September 2005. I even bought the stands for them. With my purchase, I got the extended warranty for four more years. I didnt realize that I would really need it. I have had so many issues with the washer and dryer I cant even count - from the control panel not working, to the noise and the vibration when washing, or maybe in the smell of moldy cheese. I also have issues with the constant chimes of D5 code that keeps coming up on the display screen. After 2009, I finally gave up on calling the Maytag customer service folks to have someone come and service the washer because it was out of warranty. I just decided to live with all those issues.As far as my dryer goes, the rollers went bad and that was replaced. The burnt smell isnt so bad as long as you use a wire hanger with a sock on the end of it and clean the inside of the vent. Then try to vacuum it, take the sock, get it wet, and clean the inside of the vent again. This was the most expensive piece of junk I have ever purchased in my life (almost $3,000.00 with the stands and warranty).What really gets me upset is I had the Maytag people servicing my washer and dryer up until 2009 and no one told me about a recall of my washer and dryer. The only reason I found out about it was searching for the specs as the washer finally died and I am replacing it. Trust me. I will not be purchasing a Maytag. I know that Whirlpool purchased Maytag so I am not even going to consider Whirlpool either. Since Whirlpool purchased Maytag, Whirlpool should have contacted all Maytag consumers, (which they didnt), put ads in newspapers (which I did not see) or put an ad on TV. We opened the panel and, sure enough, inside the ribbon cable the electrical wires were completely rusted through! We called Maytag, and, of course, despite the numerous complaints of the same problem, they would only fix it if we paid $250, or send us a replacement part for $350 to fix ourselves. Not going to spend that much on a dishwasher that already cost $600 and only lasted 22 months! We are attaching a picture that shows after we tried cleaning the rust (when Maytag refused to fix it) how much of the electrical wires disintegrated! We tried soldering a small wire to connect it again, but the ribbon was so thin it just melted right through.

Best Buy employee said that service was not covered by the warranty that we purchased, so they suggested we YOUTUBE some ideas on how to get rid of the smell. They said it was a common complaint for front load washers. We have tried Affresh, hot water and bleach, hot water with vinegar and lavender, etc. Nothing is working. There is mold on the plastic inside the washer door and the stench is horrible now. You can smell it when you walk into our home. I believe that stench is the reason we are all having respiratory problems, allergies, etc. I just dont know what to do anymore. Really frustrating!! These appliances cost a lot of money.

I have a Maytag Range that I bought new and installed 6-1/2 yrs ago for over $1200.00. I am single so I rarely use the ovens. The upper over I use maybe 1-2 times a month and the lower oven I may use once a month. The night of 3/7/2016, I used the cleaning cycle set on medium for both ovens. Yesterday, when I went to wipe the ovens down, I found the lower heating elements, on both ovens, had snapped. The top ovens lower bracket had broken in 2 places, the first break is about 2 from the connection, on the right side leaving about an 7 gap. The lower ovens element had broken in only one place about 2 from where it connects into the back of the oven. This has to be a flaw in the either the design or the material. In the 45 yrs that I have been using ovens and stoves, my last stove was over 35 yrs. old, I have never had a heating element break. While I can understand a break at the connection, I can see no reason that the it would break in the center of one side on both lower elements in the same oven. I also noticed that lower heating elements are a much small gauge than the top which I find strange.The other issue with the stove is the seals around the windows are not tight. I noticed dust was inside the two glass panes. The rubber seals were sunk down into the door, but Maytag said it was not their problem that I must have done something. When I remodeled my kitchen, I bought all Maytag products: 1.H20 Frig - The electronic panel went out after 3 months and had to be replaced. Manufacturing Defect - When the repairmen came to fix it, he told me to call Maytag which I did. They refused to pay for the repair because I called a repairman first, even though the business was Maytag certified. Even though I said I would cancel the service call they said because I had made the appt. and they recommended I call Maytag, they would not cover the repair. 2. Stainless Steel Dishwasher (Cost over $700.00) - Motor went out after 3 yrs. 3. Microwave/Convection Oven (above the stove)- Convection light out after 4 months. The replacements are not inexpensive.One other complaint I have is when I bought all my large kitchen appliance Maytag had a $600.00 rebate offer. Even though I mailed all the required documents to the company over 2 months before the rebate ended, I never received my rebate. The explanation I received was that the center that received my documents delayed forwarding them to the proper department that processed rebates and they were received after the offer ended. When I questioned the legality of the practice, I was told that this was all explained in the Terms and Conditions (ie: small print).

Luckily, I have a GFI circuit breaker and it shut the dishwasher off before it burned my house down. After researching on Google, I found out that my dishwasher had been recalled as a fire hazard, and I was never notified by Maytag. I called Maytag from my house phone and the automated system knew my name and address immediately just by me calling -- so they could have easily notified me but they chose not to.I ended up getting a voucher to purchase a new dishwasher (model: MDB7709AWB2). The one year warranty has literally just expired, and the Start/Resume, and the Cancel/Drain buttons no longer work. The replacement parts from Maytag cost $212.37, and that price does not include the price to get it installed from a service technician -- add on another $100-$200 depending on where you live. This is a known problem, and seems to repeat yearly! Another annoying thing about this dishwasher is the wheels on the racks. They dont glide easily and they constantly get off the track. On August 1st I contacted the Maytag Customer Service Line; the wait for contact was approximately 20 minutes, not a very good answer time and unfortunately the best I would receive during this process. Despite the wait, I received good response and had a service call set up for Wednesday August 6th.On Wednesday August 6th, a service technician from Quaker City Appliances took a look at our washer and determined that the bearings had failed and that the entire drum assembly would need to be replaced. He stated that anytime the bearings fail this soon, it typically means that the bearings weren’t pressed properly or the drum wasn’t tightened enough and that he would order the parts as soon as he got back to the office.On Friday August 8th, a representative from Quaker City Appliances called and notified us that the part was no longer available and instructed my wife to call Whirlpool Customer Service and give them this number **, to coordinate a replacement washer. I called later that afternoon and spent over an hour waiting and was transferred between departments. The first representative was very cordial and professional; the second who I believe was from the Tech-line was anything but. In my career I have held responsibility for customer service and while there are many golden rules, one of the most important was never to tell the customer “I can’t”, well Cheyenne (I believe that was her name) couldn’t help me with anything and clearly told me so. She explained that my problem was referred to the Trade Partners and I needed to call back to Quaker City Appliances on Monday.On Monday August 11th, I called Quaker City Appliances, who promptly informed me that the matter was turned over to Whirlpool and I need to contact them as there was nothing else that could be done. I called Maytag to ask how this was covered. Maytag only has 1 year warranty on parts and labor. So basically if you dont buy an extended warranty, you are stuck with a product that quits working. Apparently, Maytags work is only good for 1 year or they would have a longer warranty. I told the Rep this when I spoke to him. He told me they normally last 5-7 years. Wow, still not acceptable. He said I had two options. Maytag could send out a repairman and it would cost almost $300. The other option was just as ridiculous. I told him I paid almost $500 to start with and it only lasted 21 months. Of course he said if I had bought extended warranty it would have helped. If I paid $500 for an oven, why should I have to pay more to cover their bad workmanship?!! I am very disappointed in the quality and price of this convection oven. The bad thing is I bought all new Maytag stainless steel appliances in 2016 to match the convection oven. The products I replaced had been in my home for 12 years with no problems.

Read MANY complaints about these units leaking water onto the floor underneath. This is accompanied by a sheet of ice forming on the bottom of the freezer under the main drawer. Good money says the cause is a plugged drain tube. I had a Subzero that suffered a similar problem. The factory installed drain tube was a flexible coil type and food particles would be easily caught, compromising water flow - leading to an ice plug and eventual evaporator ice-over. I replaced the factory tube with 1/4-inch rubber fuel line and the problem went away for good. With the Maytag units, if memory serves, access to the drain tube is from the back of the unit. You have to remove an access panel to get to it. There is typically a small removable rubber restrictor cap on the bottom of the tube; this is the most likely spot for a clog to form. Due to its design, IMO, clogging and ice-over will probably be a periodic thing. If you are really handy, you can do this maintenance thing yourself.

Purchased a non agitator washer 1 year ago. Constant frustration with the sensing technology. Cannot select a water level or load size. The expectation is that the machine will do that automatically. The water dispenses through the soap container adding soap to dry clothes which then leave white marks on dark clothes. All of the selections for loads do not have a water level close to covering the clothes. The only way to achieve coverage is to reopen the lid multiple times to restart the sensing feature. Another option is to add wet clothes to increase the weight to “fool” the sensor. Some clothes have come out of the wash still dry in areas. Every load, no matter what size takes a full hour to complete! There is no quick load to be done! I have paused the cycle to leave the house and the water drains from the machine causing you to begin your 1 hour cycle again. Epic fail by the Engineers to provide a user friendly machine. This one, as time goes on, just becomes more frustrating and yes very noisy during the spin cycle.

Now the microwave wont heat! My dishwasher was recalled. The heating element could have caused a fire! Nothing that breaks or malfunctions is covered by warranty. Clothes smell like mildew if you leave them in the washer even just a couple of hours. Im 50 and had a few washer/dryers and these take the cake. Ive used the washing machine cleaner/refresher (something I have never done on washers in the past) and still a mildew smell. The dryer has lint on both sides of the lint screen. And as stated before if you dont untangle your clothes they come out in a big knot, partially un-dried & very wrinkled. The lint on both sides of the screen concern me - Ive never had a dryer do that before. Its not much lint on one side but enough to think something is not right.

The dryer, which has the sole purpose of drying clothes, DOES NOT dry clothes. It leaves each and every load damp. Two to three cycles are required for even the lightest fabrics to dry. This has been the case since the product was new. After repeated attempts to have the dryer replaced, I am fed up with the whole run around. MORAL OF THE STORY IS DO NOT BUY MAYTAG.

However, the nightmare quickly began. It started with having to cancel then resume. It ran for 8 hours non-stop (still cycling the next morning). We unplugged it and we were able to use it normally for a few times. Weve had so much aggravation with this machine weve decided to (A) Never to buy another digital dishwasher, (B) Join the class action suit proposed against Maytag. We have tried all the reset solutions offered and Weve been hand washing dishes (again) for days.

I placed a call to the customer service. The tech diagnosed and placed an order for a part and set an appointment for two weeks later, with a time window 1 to 5 pm. The person called at 5:30 to tell me he had an job before he could get to me. I had taken the day off to wait for him. I called and they ended up rescheduling, for two more weeks.. Tech came ordered different parts, tech did not show up. Tech came out again ordered new parts. Next week he arrived wrong parts. Washer still not extracting. New tech, new parts, new appointment, this was what happened throughout September and October. Tech was not happy with his job, stated that to me, would not do anything but install part, even if it didnt work. He took parts with him. The washer still not extracting. Last Thursday he didnt even have all the parts, made the decision to replace machine without discussing it with me. Told me Sears would call me in 48 hours. Received call today Tuesday. Go to Sears to have it replaced. None of the machines they offered are compatible with mine. I will have to purchase the pedestal for the new machine, plus pay the overage to get the comparable machine. Service appointment people were horrible, cold and rude. Sear store at the mall where I purchased my washer said that it was not their problem. Once we sell it you are in their hands. Have had Maytag for over 30 years. Will never buy it again. Will never buy at Sears again. Too bad I have to replace my washer with something from Sears. Not enough space to write everything I have gone through, the lost workdays, the extra expense of having to go to the laundromat, the stress of dealing with incompetent people and techs.

I have had this Maytag washer maybe 2yrs at most and it is junk. I am a single mom who desperately needs my washing machine. My kids clothes get soiled, they ARE kids so I wanted a deep water fill option when looking for our newest washing machine. Well when I start a load of laundry, I can hear the water running and draining as it is filling the basin. So for 1 they get wet but not washed. Then when it gets to the rinse cycle it stops so the only option is to manually switch it over to drain and spin in order to not have sopping wet clothes, however, since the water doesnt fill, they arent being washed, the rinse cycle doesnt work so the soap is left in the clothes, then I just have to drain and spin in order to get access water out so they will dry in the dryer. Its very upsetting, I have no way to buy another washer, I assumed this costly purchase would last me a while.Sadly, I have seen many negative reviews re: their product. I didnt check reviews before purchasing, I knew I needed a large basin and wanted the deep fill option. I always thought maytag was a good brand. The steam/heat produced by the oven has made the electronic (digital) control panel buckle. Yes! This is a thousand-dollar (plus) stove, and it has warped, through no fault of mine. When I want to cook something, I press the keypad to enter the number of cooking degrees that I want. The problem is, the control board is not working correctly. Regardless of my typing in 350, it will default to 100 degrees and stay at 100.As a teacher, I do not have a huge income. I was disgusted with my recent repair estimate of $80 for a service call, and a quote of over $600 for the replacement part, plus some not-yet-determined labor installation costs. Calling the 800 phone number for Maytag connected me to some local people working as independent and overpriced contractors in Los Angeles, California. They are not MAYTAG employees, so they are not well-informed about the product.I miss the time when manufacturers stood by their products, and had factory-trained and authorized employees available to make repairs. I bought this monster Maytag stove from Lowes. I am disgusted with both companies. I have gone online to research buying my own part and hiring a local yokel to put it in. Most everyone I have encountered has been a rip-off artist. I am teaching your kids and grand kids to read and write, and you dont want to help me repair my stove without price-gouging. Lets see... my complaints are the same as the others. I purchased the Maytag Bravos set. They were the higher end units. At first, the machine was very quiet. I quickly had a control board go out. Got that fixed. Now the washer gets off balance on every load.... Every time it spins, it stop. The gears whine very loudly... Louder than any other machine Ive ever heard. I agree with the comments on wrinkled clothes. It also does not clean heavily soiled clothes as well either. Overall, a bad decision.

Also when my girlfriend tried to pull the turkey out, the rack fell off the left side and dumped all the juices into the oven. She almost got burned and there was a lot of smoke. The freakin rack should never fall off! Also our dishwasher is on its second control board. I lived by Mr. Maytag and his airplanes/helicopters at Crest airpark in Covington, WA. I wish I still did. Id like to ask him what he thinks of his crappy products. You get nothing for your money anymore. This last repair is going to be just $800 in parts, not including any labor yet. So, I called Customer Service, and told them I was not satisfied with the repair job again, because I obviously have a lemon of a machine. Needless to say, I lost, and was told the warranty is only for repair, and not replacement. Well what happened to customer service? Its more like customer bend over, shut up and take it. So, I will get my repair at a cost of at least 1,200 bucks paid for by Maytag. Im not a business person, but if I were the company, I would think replacement of the unit would be a lot cheaper in the long run for this company and a happy customer for the future of me buying brands. Needless to say, I will never buy a Maytag or Whirlpool product again, and you can thank your useless Customer Service department in Canada for that. P.S. Then she wanted to argue with me when I asked her to pass on my dissatisfaction with their products to her supervisor. I thought Maytag was a good product. For what I pay for parts and labor, I can get a new dishwasher. She said do I expect not to have any problems with that dishwasher. I will never buy anything Maytag again. So I read the reviews when I bought this Maytag Bravo Washer and figured stuff happens. We bought the top load Maytag Brava in 2013. We bought the Home Depot warranty, 2 years later the washer was leaking water. 5 repair visits and 3 attempts to fix the leak before it was repaired. As of 4-25-17 the wash machine displayed un-level errors and started vibrating with a thundering noise. Called out warranty repair and they stated we need new bearings. Repair is scheduled in 2 days and now the wash machine is thundering and spewing oil so it is shut off. 4 years old, and like the other complaints clothes come out with dry patches and not clean. This is a bad machine, we are saving for our next washer. It will have an old style spindle/agitator, no California efficiency and probably not Maytag.

I cant express my dissatisfaction in strong enough language with these products. From the time they were installed there were problems.The Bravos series 300 washer: Quiet? Never. The thing sounds like a huge motor whirring around my laundry room. Several times, a coin got stuck in the motor and created a clanking sound that had to be fixed. Ive never had a washer that allowed coins to enter the motor. I cant close the lid on the washer until the whole unit is dry because of the mold problem. I dont feel the washer really gets clothes clean. When we purchased the unit, the Lowes salesman stressed that we could fit a large bedspread into the oversized tub and get it clean. This didnt turn out to be true. The clothes tangle terribly and the unit is off-balance with any kind of a larger load. Ive been forced to purchase the extended warranty because of the complete & total lack of confidence I have in this awful washer (same goes with the dryer).The Bravos series 400 Dryer: This unit never dries. All the setting that should be used with the sensor never work which causes a huge problem. I start out on a particular setting with a stated time limit say, for instance 45 minutes. 45 minutes later, I look at the dryer and theres 1 hr of time still left to go! The dryer just runs on and on. Ive taken to using only the timed dry and I start out at 1 hr, then check it every 10 minutes or so. This is very hard on the fabrics and has caused the useful life of my clothes to be greatly diminished. Also, the stupid thing will start to beep and I cant figure out why. Using this dryer has increased the electricity costs to us.I cant stress enough to STAY away from these products. I purchased Maytag because of their prior good reputation. That reputation is in tatters now. They should recall this product and replace it with products that actually do what they advertise!

We bought a Maytag Gemini double oven in June 2007. It has been a problem from day one. It arrived with a damaged door. They reordered and replaced it. Through the next few months, I became very discouraged with the oven. I bake a good bit and was always used to an oven with fairly accurate temperature. This oven will not reach or sometimes just wont maintain a steady temperature. After a couple of service calls, I gave up. I now raise the temperature setting about 50-75 degrees higher that the recipe requires. Naturally, I dont always get the best results. However, that isnt the thing that really bothers me. These ovens have three ignitors. About every six months, one breaks. The cost is over $200.00 each time. The ovens/broiler are highly unreliable. After mixing up something or on an important holiday, one may find that the oven wont light. Theres no warning! It is simply gone. I will never again buy a Maytag! I called Maytag and questioned them about the lemon law. I was told that the same piece had to break three times in one year. That is crazy, when the entire thing doesnt and has never worked well.

We had Maytag brand washer and dryers in the past. They worked for years and I was able to repair or replace switches and some parts on my own. The new Bravos XL is a very inferior machine, nothing but problems. The clothes have to be washed two or more times to make them clean. There is no agitator, so your clothes have only other clothes to scrub up against, and the spin cycle is just thumping and banging and thrashing around until you’re able to get in and rescue it from itself. Our older machines had tiny steel shot in the rim of the machine to keep it balanced. Don’t buy this machine ever!!!

I called the manufacturer warranty site and spent close to an hour on the phone then was given an appointment to have a service repair person look at it. Two days before the scheduled service call they called and said they would have to move the appointment out by a week. After diagnosing the problem, oil all over the floor and stained clothes from the oil, was told it could be up to 2 weeks until the part arrived and installed. So my warranty is being used up while the machine is out of service for a month. Beware of buying a Maytag!!!
