Wow! Alberts is a true aggie to the core. He tells the guy taking them deeper into the tourney than they've ever been he should consider leaving. Just wow.

A&M board of regents meeting - we can either redo Blue Bell Park like we promised the baseball coach or we can spend $100 million to fire our football coach we just extended and hire a no name coach from duke? What do you guys say?

To be fair this was before the regionals and Trev could tell Jim wasn’t happy after Trev laid off Jim’s support staff without a heads up.

The part that is interesting to me is that this info came out a few days ago and Trev has not issued a denial. Meanwhile aggy heads continue to explode as Schloss is called liar at every turn and conspiracy theories grow deeper and deeper. I am so happy the staff is hard at work, hiring Tulo back and building the roster while the cult continues to convulse.

Winfield should be a big time contributor next season.

Chip, any word if Leblanc's commitments is still good with Schloss and both sides want him at UT?

To be fair he could've reassured Jim that even though he had to cut a staff member he still supported Jim vs if you don't like it here it's ok to move on. Jim said "bet"

And what does that have to do with what I replied to?

The post was talking as to why on earth would Trev tell the guy that is taking them deeper into the tourney than they’ve ever it’s okay for him to leave. All I was saying is that at the time Trev didn’t know that he was talking to the only coach that’s taken them to a CWS Final at that point in time so you can’t really fault Trev for doing that.

But he was the only coach to ever lead them to a 3rd place finish at the CWS.

    Aggie CWS (pre-Schloss): 2-12

    Schlossnagle year 1: CWS 2-2
    Schlossnagle year 3: CWS 4-2

There is no aggie baseball "history" worth discussing without Schlossnagle.

It has to do with what trev could've said to Jim vs what he did say. Regardless of where they were in the tourney. You mentioned Trey knew he was upset, so why throw gas on the situation instead of water? What Trey said shouldn't matter where they were at in the tourney bc he still back handed him with that comment at the same time

I think at the time Trev was okay with letting Schloss go because he started to see the distancing Schloss was having with Trev.

Trev didn’t come to A&M to extend Schloss and sign him to a big money contract. They brought him in to tighten the budget and I think Trev saw the writing on the wall and was trying to have a serious conversation that he understood where Schloss was at.

Of course it kind of blows up in his face when that coach then goes on to be a couple key hits to winning it all before bolting to big brother.

Not backtracking, but I probably didn't give my post enough context. I never meant to imply Alberts made the comment while the ags were in the CWS, but I can see how my post was interpreted that way. The comment Alberts made, at any time, shows a lack of foresight and leadership imho. It sounds to me like Alberts never really liked Schloss and let his emotions impact his comments which is rarely a good thing to do as a leader. I guess he got what he asked for.

Apparently Trev said all of this to Schloss before the Super Regional. Trev came out and did say that conversation came up but Trev added that he asked Schloss to not hurt this program and not hurt these kids.

You just told him it was okay to leave which would absolutely hurt the program and hurt the kids? Go figure the A&M AD didn’t understand that.

I’m sure Tarp and Sam will preach about how Trev telling Schloss to walk away and Schloss leaving for Texas brought the team closer and better than ever before under a young coaching star for the better. We will see how it goes.

Trevi also claims he hired a search firm before the CWS since Coach wasn't going to meetings. So it took them weeks to come up with their 3rd assistant? Who'd they have running that search?
